Richardson was passionate about ballroom dancing, serving as Chair of the Board of Ballroom Dancing, and founding the International Council of Ballroom Dancing (later the World Dance Council) in 1950. This portrait was created in conjunction with The Star Ballroom amateur and professional Championships, supported by The Star newspaper and held annually at various London venues.
