Scope and content

The Gautier Club was a small private dining club whose members met twice a year to enjoy good food and good talk about a variety of subjects including ballet. The members were: Mary Clarke, Arthur Franks, Ivor Guest, Arnold Haskell, James Monahan, Philip Richardson, Cyril Swinson, G.B.L. Wilson and Michael Wood. A special guest would be invited to join each dinner and included famous names such as Dame Ninette de Valois, Sir Frederick Ashton, Dame Marie Rambert and Sir David Webster.
