Kenneth MacMillan was awarded the Prix Italia, a prize for radio and television programmes, for MacMillan's Mayerling, directed by Derek Bailey. This file contains the souvenir publication that give background to the Prix Italia, the members, judges and the programmes nominated, including three pages on MacMillan's Mayerling, a compliments slip and business card. There is a letter from Pat [Lovell], congratulating Kenneth MacMillan, 13 Oct 1978.

Kenneth MacMillan created this three-act ballet for The Royal Ballet which received its first performance on 14 Feb 1978 at the Royal Opera House, London.
