              The material in this file includes negotiations between Kenneth MacMillan and Partner and the Paris Opera Ballet for the production of Manon by the Company. There is correspondence with the Bureau de Musique Mario Bois concerning copyright in the choreography and in the score prepared by Leighton Lucas. There is also correspondence concerning the law suit taken out by Mme.Besson Massenet, a descendent of the composer Jules Massenet, and the National Video Corporation, and between Kenneth MacMillan and Partner agreeing to the ballet being performed as L'Histoire de Manon in France, 1990-1992

The ballet was recorded in Benesh Movement Notation by Monica Parker and there are four files of the score in the Kenneth MacMillan Archive Collection. This file contains Act I of Monica Parker's working score and comprises

              1. Two pages titled Manon Act I scene 1, with a list of music and dancers' names and a list of characters, in pencil
              2. One lined page with notes for the music for Act I scene 1 in biro, with corrections in pencil
