This file contains correspondence between Kenneth and Deborah MacMillan, their Agents International Creative Management Inc., specialist legal advisers and American Ballet Theatre covering the terms of Kenneth MacMillan's appointment as Artistic Associate, for the performance of some of his ballets, and payment of royalties. There is correspondence from a firm of solicitors advising re US Withholding Tax, and from the Consul of the United States confirming Kenneth MacMillan's right to employment in the US

Kenneth MacMillan created the ballet **Requiem to Andrew Lloyd Webber's music for American Ballet Theatre which received its premiere on 7 Feb 1986 in Chicago, USA. Webber's score had first been performed in concert in 1985. The material comprises:

  1. One programme for a concert performance at The Palace Theatre, London, in 1985, with annotations by Kenneth MacMillan in pencil and red felt tip pen (large)

In Kenneth MacMillan's second season as Artistic Associate, he created a new one-act ballet for the Company, Requiem to music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The material in this file includes references to that work and to his one-act version of Anastasia, that was also performed that season. It includes

Two copies of a staple bound typed booklet American Ballet Theatre National Tour 1985-1986, giving details of venues, travel arrangements, performances and doctors in each tour city, 16.12.1985-25.8.1986, one annotated with a breakdown of the music and singers for Requiem by Kenneth MacMillan in pencil on the back cover
  2. General administrative material including Personnel Contact List, the Company list for the Metropolitan Opera House season, cast lists for Romeo and Juliet in Washington and New York, details of costume fittings, draft programme proposal, itinerary and flight schedule, calendar schedule grid for 1985-1986 season, cast list for Wolf Trap season with covering letter, and 1986 production budget
  3. Gala menu for first night of Requiem
  4. Correspondence including to Deborah MacMillan concerning her costume jewellery that was copied for Anastasia
