Kenneth MacMillan's choice of records for BBC Radio programme Desert Island Discs, broadcast on 5 Mar 1983. The autograph handwritten list gives details of the chosen performer as well as the recording details. The typed version includes his choice of single disc, luxury item and one book. The reverse of the envelope includes a note 'Garrick 1o/c Roy Plummly (sic)' and 'Ring Michael Oliver'.

These files contain information relating to mental and physical health issues suffered by Kenneth MacMillan during his professional life. They include correspondence with therapists, surgeons and other health professionals, lists of prescribed medication, and academic articles

Kenneth MacMillan's interest in costume jewellery began in the mid-1980s when he was in New York, working at American Ballet Theatre. His first purchase was a brooch by Miriam Haskell and he went on to concentrate on American makers including Haskell, Eisenberg, Pennino, Hobe and Kenneth Jay Lane. He became a serious and knowledgeable collector amassing over 1000 pieces and in 1992 was asked to loan items to the Victoria and Albert Museum for their exhibition on Jewels of Fantasy. Following MacMillan's death in 1992, Deborah MacMillan was asked to loan items for the exhibition when it toured to the Fashion Institute in New York under the auspices of Swarovski.
