The letter is asking Richardson if he would contribute a feature for this year's Star Ball programme looking back at the years 1950-57. The resulting article can be found in the 1958 programme.

Richardson writes as secretary to the Association of Operatic Dancing of Great Britain (later the Royal Academy of Dancing) and Mrs Bedells in this instance is Caroline Bedells (mother of Phyllis Bedells).
