Kenneth MacMillan was responsible for the revival of American Ballet Theatre's Choreographic Workshops. He adjudicated the first showing of new works in September 1986 and there was a further workshop and performance in September 1987. The material in this file comprises

In early 1983 the Chilean National Ballet announced the Company was to acquire two ballets by Kenneth MacMillan. The material in this file comprises correspondence from Phillip Whitehead, MP, and the Chile Committee for Human Rights, urging Kenneth MacMillan to reconsider his decision to travel to Chile, plus a photocopy of an article by Jane King. There is an additional letter from the Committee explaining why they understood Kenneth MacMillan to be planning to visit Chile and expressing pleasure that he is not intending to at the present time.

Kenneth MacMillan created the one-act ballet Checkpoint for the Royal Ballet New Group which premiered on 27 Nov 1970 in Manchester. The material comprises:

1. Three pages of typed Production Notes compiled by someone in the Production and Technical Department at the Royal Opera House or from the Royal Ballet New Group, detailing all the issues that arose in creating the set and technical elements of the production. Uncredited and undated

Ian Horsbrugh was Chairman of a committee planning a Celebration of Czech Music for October 1985. This file contains a letter from Ian Horsbrugh to Kenneth MacMillan asking if The Royal Ballet could participate in the Celebration, 13 Oct 1983, enclosing a booklet of orchestral and choral suggestions.
