London Weekend Television's the South Bank Show recorded a documentary of the making of Mayerling in 1978. The material in this file includes an invitation to a private supper hosted by LWT in the Crush Bar at the Royal Opera House after a performance of Mayerling, 13 Mar 1978, correspondence from Melvyn Bragg about Mayerling, it being the official entry for the Prix Italia, the possibility of working together on an Isadora project, 1979, of MacMillan creating a piece for television for Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean, ice dancers, 1984, from Michael Grade, Director of Programmes, re Mayerling, 1978, and Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd, 1980, from Rosie Alison, Associate Producer, re using some excerpts from MacMillan ballets for documentaries, 1992, and from Greg Dyke, Group Chief Executive, a proposed agreement for sales to overseas broadcasters, 1992

This Library series contains printed material collected by Kenneth and Deborah MacMillan. The material primarily documents the life and career of Kenneth MacMillan, with some material that has been collected for research and personal interest.
Additional material collected by Deborah MacMillan, includes books on ballet from the Ursula Moreton Library that were purchased from a book seller.
Books have been added to the RAD Library, except where they duplicated existing copies, and can be found through the RAD Library Catalogue. Books with dedications have been retained. A list of Books in the Kenneth MacMillan archive collection can be found:
Programmes and periodicals have been retained where they did not duplicate existing holdings in the RAD Library so the extent of the Archive was originally greater than is recorded here.
Press cuttings include interviews with and articles on Kenneth MacMillan, previews and reviews of the ballets and plays he worked on, obituaries and tributes following his death.
This series also contains commercial recordings of vinyl records of music used by Kenneth MacMillan for his ballets.

The material in this file includes negotiations between Kenneth MacMillan and Partner and the Paris Opera Ballet for the production of Manon by the Company. There is correspondence with the Bureau de Musique Mario Bois concerning copyright in the choreography and in the score prepared by Leighton Lucas. There is also correspondence concerning the law suit taken out by Mme.Besson Massenet, a descendent of the composer Jules Massenet, and the National Video Corporation, and between Kenneth MacMillan and Partner agreeing to the ballet being performed as L'Histoire de Manon in France, 1990-1992
