Ballerina Nora Kaye met Kenneth MacMillan in 1956 when he choreographed Winter's Eve for American Ballet Theatre. Nora Kaye and her husband, choreographer and director Herbert Ross were great friends of Kenneth MacMillan and his family. The material in this file consists mostly of letters expressing that friendship. It comprises

Ross McKim was one of the dancers from London Contemporary Dance Theatre who appeared in Kenneth MacMillan's choreography for The Royal Opera's production of Tannhauser at the Royal Opera House, London in 1984. Kenneth MacMillan first met playwright John Osborne in 1958 when he was invited to create the choreography for Osborne's musical The World of Paul Slickey. The correspondence in this file comprises

Georgina Parkinson joined The Royal Ballet in 1958 and became close friends with Kenneth and Deborah MacMillan. She joined American Ballet Theatre in 1978 and was the Company's Ballet Mistress from 1980 to 2009 where she was responsible for supervising and rehearsing the staging of many MacMillan ballets. Two of the letters were written while a dancer with The Royal Ballet, the remainder while working with American Ballet Theatre.

Thanks them for the first night telegram. Praises Ivan Nagy both as dancer and person, reports that she makes her delayed debut as Swanhilda, and mentions forthcoming visit from Dan Hogg, 31.8.1972
