Kenneth MacMillan understood the importance of Benesh Movement Notation in recording his choreographic work and supported the work of the Institute of Choreology. He was a member of the Council of Management from 1973 and Vice President from 1981 becoming President in 1988. The material in this file includes correspondence with officers of the Institute including Directors Monica Parker and Andrew Ward, Librarian Irmgard Berry, Chairmen Nicholas Dromgoole and Roger Bramble, Secretary Francis Yeoh and Assistant/Technical Director Adrian Grater, as well as with John Sainsbury, the Arts Council, and the Director of The Julliard School Muriel Topaz. Topics covered include arrangements for securing rights in choreographic scores, the removal of Arts Council Funding and the need for fund raising including Gala Performances by The Royal Ballet and Ballet Rambert, efforts to create a Resource Centre for Dance, and publicising the Institute and Benesh Movement Notation through films and publications

Kenneth and Deborah MacMillan stopped over in Hong Kong when returning from Australia in 1988 and spent time with The Hong Kong Ballet. The Company subsequently performed MacMillan's Concerto, Summer pas de deux and Pavane. The correspondence and contracts in this file mainly relate to arrangements for these works, with a letter from Petal [Miller] expressing her gratitude in working with the Company on the staging of Pavane. Kenneth MacMillan created the one-act ballet The Four Seasons for The Royal Ballet which premiered at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden on 5 Mar 1975. The ballet was subsequently staged by the Paris Opera Ballet at the Theatre de l'Opera de Paris in 1978 with new designs

This recording of Scott Joplin's Maple Leaf Rag and The Entertainer with Joshua Rifkin at the piano was first released by Nonesuch Records as a single in 1974, having been taken from the Nonesuch LP Piano Rags by Scott Joplin. Kenneth MacMillan used both of these pieces in his ballet Elite Syncopations
