The Royal Opera House commissioned Nigel Gosling (Alexander Bland) to write a history of The Royal Ballet as part of the celebrations for the Company's 50th anniversary. This file contains a letter from Nigel Gosling to Kenneth MacMillan asking some specific questions, 21 Jan 1980, and a letter from Ken Davison enclosing pages from the book and asking for comments which has pencil notes by Deborah MacMillan on it expressing Kenneth MacMillan's concerns, 6 Feb 1980. The 35 pages of Gosling's text have some corrections by Ken Davison, and question marks in pencil and a couple of one word comments by Kenneth MacMillan in the margins

This file contains a copy of the thesis, presented in Nov 1982, and two letters to Kenneth MacMillan about the thesis, one from Ed Victor, Literary Agent, 17 Jun 1983, and one from Robert Penman thanking Kenneth MacMillan for agreeing to read his thesis, 15 Jan 1983. The thesis is illustrated with photocopies of production photographs
